Dorie Conlon, a native of Plantsville, left, makes a new friend during her 2008 two-month mission trip to the Dominican Republic. This summer, Conlon will be spending two months at the Kampala Children's Centre in Uganda. There will be a fundraiser for Conlon this Sunday, May 23, beginning at 2 p.m., at Smokin' with Chris, 59 W. Center St., with live music and entertainment, Ugandan food and a silent auction.
