Full story: Joshua Komisarjevsky found guilty
NEW HAVEN -- Joshua Komisarjevsky has been found guilty on all 17 of the counts he faced in the Cheshire home invasion, including six capital felony charges qualifying him for the death penalty.
Jurors returned a verdict at 3:33 p.m. after deliberating for more than eight hours over two days.
New section of Rails to Trails opens
The newest segment of Rails-to-Trails, which extends from downtown Plantsville to the Cheshire town line, opened this morning with a ribbon-cutting and history tour. Walkers, bicyclists and town officials were present. The trail in Southington now stretches more than 4 miles. It is hoped that with the completion of a few segments the trails will go from Massachusetts to New Haven.
Senator announces new 'three strikes' coalition
State Sen. Sam S.F. Caligiuri announced he has formed the Three Strikes Now Coalition, a not-for-profit, non-partisan grass roots organization dedicated to the enactment of a "three strikes and you're out" law in Connecticut. The coalition's Web site is www.threestrikesnow.com.
