Shelter open at the Calendar House
An emergency shelter has been established at the Calendar House 388 Pleasant Street Southington, CT 06489-2798 (860) 621-3014. The shelter will remain open throughout the duration of the storm and longer if needed, according to the Southington Police Department.

FEMA opened offices in a number of spots in Connecticut on Thursday for homeowners and busineses suffering losses from Tropical Storm Irene.

The Southington Police Department has announced an emergency shelter has been opened at the Calendar House, 388 Pleasant St., for those people who have lost power. Approximately 2,119 households are without power and it is not known when it will be back in operation. Residents who need a ride to the Calendar house, cann call (860) 621-0101.
