Because of the rain, the Apple Harvest Festival fireworks planned for tonight, Oct. 1, have been postponed until Saturday, Oct. 8, 9 p.m.

All fireworks with the exception of sparklers are illegal in Connecticut and may not be sold, purchased or used, with the exception of regulated fireworks displays by state licensed, professional pyrotechnicians at sites which have been approved by state and local officials.

Festival opening postponed until Saturday noon
The Apple Harvest Festival committee canceled all activities this evening (Friday) because of the heavy rain that is expected. The festival was scheduled to start with opening ceremonies at 6 p.m.
Festival organizers finalizing plans
The 40th Annual Apple Harvest Festival will take place Sept. 26 to 28 and Oct. 3 to 5 in downtown Southington. To start off the festivities, there will be a Festival Gala held at the Aqua Turf from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday Sept.
