Heavy rain floods Plantsville Center

Two days of rain left the center of Plantsville flooded along Route 10, making the road impassable and forcing business closures. The Quinnipiac River is overflowing near this hammock located at the back of Kess Cafe.

Plainville man charged in downtown Plantsville crash

Southington police charged a Plainville man after he was involved in a crash Tuesday night in the center of Plantsville. The intersection of West Main, South Main and Main streets was closed for four hours, reopening shortly after midnight.

Monday morning Plantsville Pharmacy gets a new sign, right, replacing one that dates from the 1970s, left. Pharmacist and co-owner Jim Potrepka said a vertical sign reading "drugs" was destroyed by a major storm during the 1980s and never replaced.
