Southington Police detectives arrested Edward Nowak, age 44, of 47 Bingham St., Forestville, last night, Oct. 22, at approximately 6:45 p.m. He was captured at the Super 8 Motel located on Scott Road in Waterbury, and was arrested without incident.

Nowak was captured after police reviewed bank tapes from Oct. 19, when he had made earlier transactions. It was subsequently learned he had cashed stolen checks on that date.

Nowak was charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree larceny, and second-degree threatening. He was held on $250,000 bond and his court date is today Oct. 23.
