Brittany Volpe (15-3) will be key on the mound for the Blue Knights in the postseason if they want to challenge for a state title. It starts Monday with Greenwich.

Friday afternoon, the postseason brackets were released by the CIAC for baseball, softball, volleyball and girls tennis. Softball and Volleyball drew the highest seeds at five and three respectively. Baseball will go in as the 29th seed out of 34 and girls tennis is No. 13 out of 21.

 

Softball (17-3) will play their first game on Monday, June 1, at 4 p.m. at home against 28 seed Greenwich (9-11). If they win, they will stay home and play the winner of 12 Staples (12-6) vs. 21 New Milford (12-8) the next day, Tuesday, June 2. For the full Class LL softball bracket, click here.

Baseball (10-10) also starts Monday and will travel to number four seed West Haven (16-4). If they can pull the upset, they would travel and play the winner of 13 New Britain (14-6) vs. 20 Windsor (12-8) on Tuesday, June 6, at 3:30 p.m. For the full Class LL baseball bracket, click here.

Boys volleyball (17-1) ended their year with only one loss and a CCC South title and heads into the Class L tournament as the three seed behind undefeated Staples and one-loss Fairfield Warde/Ludlowe Co-op. Southington missed getting a bye as a result from a conference loss to Glastonbury. They begin their postseason Tuesday, June 2, at 6 p.m. at home against South Windsor (7-10). If they win, they would play the winner of 6 Danbury (11-6) vs. 11 Xavier (10-8) in Southington on Friday, June 5. For the full Class L volleyball bracket, click here.

Girls tennis (11-6) goes in as the 13 seed and will play a qualifying round against 20th seed Shelton (8-8) with the winner playing four seed Staples (14-2) in the first round. They will play both the qualifying round and the first round Monday, June 1, at Staples starting at 3 p.m. For the full Class L girls tennis bracket, click here.

Boys Lacrosse will be announced Monday as they will most likely have a home game.

Boys tennis will be announced Tuesday.

Girls tennis state open will be announced Wednesday.
