Gloria C. Leivdal

Gloria (Collins) Leivdal, 80, of Southington, died Monday, April 1, 2008, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut at Bradley Memorial, Southington. She was the wife of the late Grant Leivdal.

Born Aug. 15, 1927, in Carmel, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Beatrice (Houston) Collins. She loved to cook and sew and enjoyed crossword puzzles.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon DellaVecchia and her husband, Donald, of Southington; three granddaughters, Sheri DellaVecchia, Kimberly DellaVecchia and Kristen DellaVecchia, all of Southington; five great-grandchildren, Christina and Anthony DellaVecchia, Megan Hubbell, and Matthew and Shannon O'Connor; a brother, Lloyd Collins Jr., of Exeter, Maine; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Salisbury, and a brother, Francis Collins.

Services were private. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, Southington is assisting the family with the arrangements.
