Walter S. Jagielski
Walter S. Jagielski, 72, of Bristol, died at home unexpectedly Thursday, April 3, 2008. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Sanchirico) Jagielski.
Born in Southington, on March 6, 1936, he was the son of the late George and Frances (Regula) Jagielski. A resident of Bristol for most of his life, he graduated from St. Stanislaus Parochial School and Bristol High School. A U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, he served from 1954 to 1957 and successfully completed his training at Southeastern Signal School as instructional repairman for the Signal Section. Making use of his valuable Army training, he later was employed as a lineman for Connecticut Light & Power Co. Disabled at a young age, he later worked part-time at Four Star Manufacturing in Bristol.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Karen and Francis J. Talarico, of Warnersville, Pa., and Laurie A. and Richard Dehnel, of Southington; a brother, Edward Jagielski and his wife, Anna, of Forestville; two sister-in-laws Barbara Jagielski, of Southington and Evelyn Jagielski, of Millbury, Mass,; three sisters Florence Plonski and her husband, Edward, of Bristol; Nellie Witkovic, of Plantsville, and Eleanor Plonski, of Enfield; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ann Michaud, of Bristol. He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph and Alfred Jagielski; his brother-in-laws, John Plonski, Edward Ducki and Thomas Witkovic; and a sister, Jennie Ducki.
Services were held April 9 from the Stanley Suchodolski Funeral Home, Bristol, to St. Stanislaus Church, Bristol. A military burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
