The Southington High School Athletic Department announced that they have appointed D.J. Hernandez as the new head football coach of the Blue Knights. Hernandez is a former standout student-athlete at the University of Connecticut. He is from Bristol and served on the Southington football staff this past season as an assistant coach and he is presently a head football coach in Austria. Hernandez exemplifies the qualities of character, leadership and has focus and direction to take on this role as head football coach at Southington High School. He will also be serving as an intern in the Guidance Department to complete his masters degree program.
