O'Brien named Academic All-State, Charamuts All-State V-Ball

Ryan's younger brother Brendan was also honored for the first time as an All-State performer and will be counted on next year for the Knights if they hope to return to the finals and pick up the illusive win.

Kevin O'Brien, of the Blue Knights baseball team, was named to the Academic All-State team by the Connecticut High School Coaches Association (CHSCA). O'Brien was one of 15 players who recieved the honor across the state (not just in Class LL). O'Brien finished the year with 18 hits, nine RBIs, a .290 batting average, led the team with six doubles and tied for the team lead with 14 runs scored. O'Brien was a senior and graduated this past week.

Volleyball players recieve honors

Senior Ryan Charamut and his junior brother Brendan were named to the Class L All-State team for the frist time by the CHSCA. Both were also All-Conference performers and helped lead the Blue Knights back to the finals for the third straight year, losing for the third consecutive time to Staples. The Knights finished up with a No. 3 ranking in the coaches poll, behind unanimous No.1 Staples and Class M winner Masuk.
