Southington police say they applied for a warrant to arrest a Bristol resident in connection with the robbery of the TD Bank, on Meriden-Waterubry Turnpike, earlier this week.

Police say Brian Jacobs, 26, of Brightwood Road in Bristol will be arrested and charged with the first-degree robbery and fourth-degree larceny in connection with the Wednesday afternoon bank robbery. Jacobs is currently being held at Hartford Correctional Center on unrelated charges, police say.

When photographs from the robbery were released to the media, Sgt. Lowell DePalma, the police spokesman, said police received numerous tips about the identity of the robber.

Due to the tips, photographs and other evidence, DePalma said police were able to obtain an arrest warrant.

Jacobs is expected to be arrested via a habeas corpus on Dec. 7, DePalma said.
