Local police are asking for help in identifying a suspect that they say used a fraudulent credit card to purchase gift cards and other cash-value items from area Stop and Shop locations.

On March 5, 2010, police said the unidentified suspect went to the Southington Stop and Shop at 505 North Main St. The suspect used a stolen credit card to purchase three VISA gift cards, one purchase of $237.75 for a $200 Visa Card and $30.00 Boost Telecom card, and the other purchase of $205.95 for a $200 VISA gift card.

In addition, this same suspect also committed the same acts at the Bristol and Forestville Stop & Shop stores immediately afterwards.
