Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a TD Bank on the Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike this afternoon.
At about 12:45 p.m., a white male with a thin build dressed in a grey hooded sweatshirt walked into the bank at 921 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike and handed the teller a note demanding money. Police say the man implied he had a gun but it was never shown.
The robber was dressed in a dark hooded sweatshirt and fled the scene in a car heading west on the turnpike, police say. He made off with an undetermined amount of cash.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Southington Police Department at (860) 621-0101.
The robbery is the second in as many days in the area. On Tuesday, a TD Bank on East Main Street in Meriden was also robbed by a white male in a grey hooded sweatshirt around 4:30 p.m.. That man was wearing a black mask covering most of his face and made off with an undetermined amount of cash.
