Same sex marriage decision ‘disappoints’ senator

State Sen. Sam Caligiuri said he is “disappointed and dismayed” by the State Supreme Court decision on Oct. 8 stating that same sex marriage is a legal right in Connecticut. “I have always believed, along with most Connecticut residents, that marriage is the union of a man and a woman. I am disappointed and dismayed that the State Supreme Court issued a decision stating otherwise,” Caligiuri said. “With all due respect to the State Supreme Court, this decision is an example of what can happen when a court sets out to reach a certain conclusion instead of adhering to existing law,” Caligiuri said.
