Southington Italian Festival this weekend

The Southington Italian-American Festival will be held Friday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26 on Center Street between North Liberty and High streets (previously Factory Square). Festival hours are Friday, 5 to 11 p.m.; Saturday, noon to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.

Police have released the following information regarding parking and street closures. Center Street between North Liberty and High streets will be closed to all vehicular traffic starting on Friday 6 a.m. through Monday, July 27, 1 a.m., when the roadway will be reopened for traffic. 
Vehicles will be detoured around the festival using High Street to North Liberty or Center Street. Liberty Street traffic can use either North Liberty to High Street or South Center to High Street.
There will be no parking on both sides of the following streets: High Street from North Main to Center Street, Center Street from High Street to South Center Street, all of South Center Street, Liberty Street from Columbus Avenue to North Liberty Street, and all of North Liberty Street.
The east side of South Center Street has a painted white line, which runs the length of the Rails to Trails path. Parking is allowed inside this line.
The no parking order shall be in effect from July 25, 7 a.m., to July 27, 1 a.m., when the roadway will be opened.
Parking for vendors will be located along the off road section of parking located on the west side of High Street, adjacent to the Rails-To-Trails path. 
Handicapped parking will be in the municipal parking lot located near the northwest corner of Center and Liberty streets.
There will be an outside Catholic Mass held on the stage at 10 a.m. and then a blessed saint procession starting at approximately 11 a.m. or when the Mass ends. This procession will exit the stage area taking a left onto Center Street. It will proceed through the Liberty Street barricade onto Liberty Street to the end, taking a right onto Eden Avenue, a right onto Bristol Street, through the intersection onto South Center Street, through the barricaded area at High and Center streets, stopping at the stage area. The procession will have at least four stops.
