UPDATE: Knight boys soccer into quarters
Posted on:
The Southington High boys soccer team thought their season was over Thursday afternoon in a 1-0 second round loss to Fairfield Prep in the Class LL tournament. However, Fairfield Prep was playing with an ineligible player, who had received two yellow cards in the team's opening round win over E.O. Smith and was suppossed to sit out against Southington but didn't. Therefore, the Knights got the 1-0 forfeit victory and will face arguably the state's best team, undefeated Glastonbury, Class LL's top seed, on Monday. The Tomahawks have 17 wins and one tie on the year. That game will be played at Glastonbury High School at 2 p.m. Southington will be without Joe Gianatti, who received a red card against Farifield and even with the forfeit, will still be forced to sit out of Monday's game.
