Police say a local man stabbed and robbed a woman on Beecher Street Thursday afternoon.

Police say around 1:50 p.m., a man called police to report a vehicle stopped at the intersection of Beecher Street and Hill Streets, with someone in the car bleeding. Police arrived to find a 21-year-old Bristol woman stabbed in the hand.

The woman had just picked up the brother of an acquaintance on Beecher Street. The man robbed her and fled to his home with an envelope of cash, police said. Police were able to track the suspect to his home.

Police say Javier Arroyo, 18, of 125 Howard Ave. is being charged in the incident.

The woman was taken to the Hospital of Central Connecticut Bradley Memorial Campus for treatment.
