What does Memorial Day mean to you?

First I would like to commend the town of Southington for the honor and recognition they give to Memorial Day. I speak from experience that the same honor does not appear in many other areas.

Memorial Day recognition is very important to me. My brother, Corporal Robert R. Moone, USMCR from Plantsville, was killed on Iwo Jima - 24 Feb 1945. By showing recognition to Memorial Day it lets me know that in the future his sacrifice will always be recognized and remembered. Especially to those whose loved ones served their country so honorably.

Thank you. Beverly Moone-Edmiston
